Flavor of the Month

Truffles

September/October 2011: Orient's Jewel

Not too hot but with a tantalizing flavor of the East. Ground almonds, coriander, and wasabi blended with heavy cream. $10.00 for five.

Truffles

July/August 2011: Lemoncello

Tried something new for the summer months, and found a winner! I used fresh goat milk (from Whidbey Island’s Little Brown Farm) to create a truffle instead of heavy cream, and it produced a light, creamy texture that is hard to surpass. Two taste treats were created using lemon zest and fresh lemon juice. The first is a White Lemoncello truffle — made with white chocolate and taste just like lemon pie. The second blends milk and dark chocolate together with the lemon and produces a great refreshing flavor. Both truffles are enrobed in 65% dark chocolate. $10.00 for five.

Truffles

June 2011: Sky Rocket

Just in time for the Fourth of July! First, the rich creamy 70% cocoa melts in your mouth, followed by the explosion of heat that lights up your taste buds like fireworks in the darkened sky. $12.00 for five.

Truffles

May 2011: Mangosteen

We've developed a truffle with some added health benefits by combining dark chocolate and the “Queen of Fruits,” Mangosteen. From the Xango Mangosteen website, “This exotic fruit, used in traditional medicine for centuries, contains some of the most potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal compounds in nature.” For more info: www.mangosteen-juice-online.com. Then try our new truffles, $12.00 for five.

Modena truffles

April 2011: Modena

Take your taste buds off the beaten path with our new "Modena" truffle. A surprising twist of balsamic vinegar and honey, made with 70% cocoa. All the nuances of the balsamic without the taste of the vinegar. $10 for five.
