Weekend Markets:
Bayview Farmer's Market, Bayview Corner, Whidbey Island
Saturdays, 10 AM to 2 PM, April 26 - October 25
Ballard Sunday Farmer's Market, Ballard Ave (a block west of Leary) between 20th and 22nd Ave NW, Seattle. Sundays, 10 AM to 2 PM. Goerge is normally there from November through May, it's too hot to sell chocolates on the streets of Seattle in the summer.
Greenbank Farm
Although the vines are gone, for many years the Greenbank Farm on Whidbey Island was a major grower of loganberries for winemaking. Now operated by a community trust, the tradition is preserved at the Wine Shop and Tasting Room where a wines from small local wineries are available, along with Whidbey Cheese and the Whidbey Pies Cafe. No hotbed of culinary provender would be replete without sweets, and you'll find loganberry truffles and ballinis in the wine shop, said truffles made by Chocolates by George!, of course.
